Photography Coverage of the Tennis Australia and Marriott Hotel’s Partnership with Ash Barty

LP Commercial Photography had the honour of capturing the press imagery of Ash Barty playing tennis, on the court, and interacting with young fans for HM Magazine.

See the full HM Magazine article HERE, featuring LP Commercial’s imagery.

Previous women’s tennis world number one, Ash Barty, was appointed ambassador for Marriott hotels during their new partnership with Tennis Australia, as a precursor to the hotel hosting some of the biggest names in tennis for the upcoming tennis season.

LP Photography was contacted to capture a cover for HM magazine as well as a double page spread and other imagery, including lifestyle shots and a visual record of the deal, for the press release.

As Matt Lennon(Dec 8, 2021) states in the HM article, ‘Unique guest experiences and exclusive sporting and cultural partnerships will be underpinned by a solid pipeline of hotel openings in the region’, a big first step being to bring Ash Barty on as ambassador for the upcoming tennis season.

Onsite for these prestigious events, LP worked to curate the most suitable portrait images for the upcoming press release, as well as a mix of vertical and horizontal imagery for the magazine spread.

What a great moment to be involved in.

Elevating Online Presence: Collaborating with Brisbane's Digital Marketing Agency, Due North, to Customise Imagery for their Client's Websites

Hand-in-hand with Due North, one of Brisbane’s trendiest digital marketing and web design agency previously known as WebIgnite, LP Commercial Photography & Videography worked with Due North’s clients to elevate their online platforms through vibrant visuals tailored for their websites and social media imagery and videography. Through integration with Due North’s services and our photography and videography, we were able to create compelling digital experiences for a range of small businesses across Brisbane.

Herman Dentistry - A friendly, up-to-date Dentist shopfront

Herman Dentistry, a small family-owned business, wanted to update their website to make themselves and their location better known to locals, as well as easier to find both online and in person. Due North commissioned LP with the following brief:

  • Customised images for page titles that could be cropped down to header size and overlaid

  • At least one photo per service subpage, with the purpose of accompanying and breaking up the text

  • Single portraits and a team photo for ‘About Us’ page

  • ‘In action’ imagery of the team with clients showing their personality

See below the practical use of our imagery of Herman Dental that has been implemented onto the website.

Ascot Air - Website & IMAGERY Revamp

Solutions for Cleaning - Website imagery

The Brief:

Solutions for Cleaning contacted Due North, who in turn utilised LP as photographers of choice, in order to be able to keep the continued focus on their business while also being involved in the type of content being created for their website.

So, together with Due North, and a focus on collaboration to create just what Solutions was looking for, we made the magic happen.

Targeted customers:

The key messages for Solutions for Cleaning is that their service and their staff are a cut above; professional, no-fuss, reliable and high quality. Their target audiences are:

  • Healthcare: medical clinics, hospitals etc

  • Entire school campuses

  • Large offices: Highrises , factories etc

Shooting onsite during services:

This job involved four site visits for each of the key demographics, and to cover their range of services. With the cleaning done at night, the site visits needed to be after-hours shoots at various locations.

While filming cleaning products in action may not sound like the most glamorous or exciting of jobs, it was a pleasure to work with Solutions for Cleaning on representing their new range and doing so in a way that would appeal to their target audience.

Those customers, hospitals, schools and other public service buildings, couldn’t run without companies like this working quietly after hours and behind the scenes, making it a more than rewarding job.

LP looks forward to a continued relationship with Due North, working onsite to elevate their clients with our imagery and videography.

See Due North’s website here.

Product Photography brought ALIVE with Children: Cowrie & Conch Children’s Furniture

When a client comes to us with a brief of capturing their products in a fun and expressive way with children, we JUMP with excitement! After many years of being commercial photographers and family photographers, you can bet you, we are the experts in this field haha!

Kylie from Cowrie & Conch was looking for a fun location that suited her products, we had the perfect location for her, Bilinga Beach Abode in the Gold Coast. Next was timing the day….

Co-ordinating kids, parents, setting up the products, some lifestyle portraits of Kylie and her little one and then packdown, and we achieved all of this in 2 hours! Our TIP, don’t force children to do things, you work with them, let them play, encourage them to play and interact with the products, sit back with a long lens and don’t intimidate them. You can see the results for yourself below….

What an amazing product photography photoshoot! Imagery for social media, website and marketing for months!

Em

Life Portraits were given the brief to make the shoot ‘fun and allow the kids to be their organic selves’. Emily, one of the business owners, who is an absolute ‘child whisper’ brought this shoot to life - she gave it a kind of magic that is hard to put your finger on. I receive countless compliments and praise for these images regularly. They adorn my website and these memories that have been captured are little gems of sheer brilliance.

Photographing an Advertising Campaign Against the Clock: Brisbane Campaign & Lifestyle Photography

When every second counts, the professional shines!

What are the benefits of hiring a professional photographer?

There are a myriad of answers to that question…. image quality, experience to deal with tricky situations, the right equipment for the job, people skills… and much more.

But one of the answers some don’t think about that can be equally important… delivery on time, no matter what.

That seems like an almost “goes without saying” kind of comment. In many ways that’s true and is easy to accomplish with a bit of planning and forewarning of deadlines, arranging proper lead times for all the behind the scenes planning, post production work, delivery times etc as well as planing the actual shoot.

But sometimes planning goes out the window and delivery of high quality images on the tightest deadlines are required if a client is to seize every opportunity that comes their way, and that is where a team like LP Commercial Photography shines… Like when you need to create a multi-execution billboard advertising campaign from scratch in four days over Christmas!

Olympia Transformations Sanctuary gym contacted us on December 22nd with a dilemma. They had been offered a slot on two of the most prominent electronic billboard locations in Brisbane over the New Year period but had days to have their campaign images literally shot and put up in lights.

From the initial call on the 22nd, there followed a fast planning phone call to put in place a photoshoot the following day that could capture all of the fantastic atmosphere and activities at the gym from beginner friendly training to Muay Thai kick boxing fight club to provide around ten to fifteen different advertising executions.

At 4.30pm the next day the shoot was underway, working within a live gym environment and around people and classes to get the shots with the gym provided talent.

By mid morning December 24th we had culled and carried our an initial processing of the images, exported them and delivered proof to the client for their consideration.

Twenty-four hours later the client’s selection had been made and by Christmas evening the selection had been fully processed, approved and put in the hands of the client’s designer.

A couple of days later the campaign is live and displaying above one of the busiest road intersections in the city constantly scrolling through multiple executions for the add campaign.

Obviously we all like to work with good and spacious timelines, but when the pressure is on and there is literally no time left, but there can also be no compromise on quality, that’s when you need the experience and ability of a professional photography team that will do whatever it takes to meet your deadline more than ever…. that’s when you contact us at LP Commercial Photography.

Personalised Fitness Branding with F45 Mackay: Unique Content Creation for your Business

IMAGERY

Grabbing the attention  of NEW and existing customers in an instant!

The imagery you use to market yourself will often be the first contact your potential customers will have with you and your brand. Those potential customers will draw lasting conclusions about you and your services/products from those images and since first impressions are lasting impressions, getting that introduction right is critical.

But to be truly impactful, those images must communicate and uphold your brand identity and core values immediately and at first glance. In a crowded marketplace identifying photographers who can achieve both stunning images and effectively communicate brand values is critical. Moving from ‘stock photography’ imagery to personalised lifestyle and commercial imagery for your business is the first step to improving your business branding.

In addition, creating strong imagery that promotes your core values and is customised to your business also creates great social media content that your existing customers will be proud to associate themselves with and will in turn share to their communities, extending the reach of your online and offline marketing tactics.

We worked with the team at F45 Mackay creating personalised fitness lifestyle imagery communicating their brand identity, culture and fun environment.

Owners Lee & Kim wanted to capture their trainers, members and the atmosphere of their business with ‘real-life’ imagery. After taking the time to get to know the brand and it’s values we set up a series of “staged” images and worked in a documentary style during live training sessions to create a set of images unique to f45 Mackay and to Lee and Kim. These are now an integral part of their social media, website and off-line marketing. See their images below.

REAL Collaboration delivers REAL results for Fulton Hogan: Advertising & Marketing Campaign

Brisbane Commercial Advertising and Marketing Photography

Case Study: REAL Collaboration delivers REAL results for Clients Fulton Hogan

Concept:

LP Commercial Photography collaborated with Cross Copywriting & Creative to plan and create marketing and advertising imagery for a new marketing campaign for Fulton Hogan featuring their core values - combining the message that diversity = strength with Fulton Hogan's core people values - the REAL values

Message:

The REAL people of Fulton Hogan campaign was centred around the message that there is strength in diversity, which should be celebrated in all its forms

The Client:

Fulton Hogan Construction is a leading, fully integrated civil construction and maintenance business that has been building, maintaining and connecting the Asia Pacific Region for over 80 years. One of their key people values is known as the REAL values, which stand for Respect, Energy & Effort, Attitude and Leadership. Fulton Hogan’s REAL values are promoted company wide.

The business identified diversity as a key driver of their business and asked Cross Copywriting and Creative to conceptualise and deliver an internal campaign that would to put diversity front and centre and LP Commercial to create the imagery to align with this vision.

CC+C and LP Commercial collaborated their skills to successfully complete the project. CC+C presented a strategically sound creative concept that not only resonated with staff, but also had potential for a recruitment drive, to attract REAL people. We created professional, emotive imagery with their staff on site portraying those REAL people. The concept combined the message that diversity = strength with Fulton Hogan's core people values - the REAL values.

The Collaboration - Words from the client

LP Commercial Photography partnered with CC+C to deliver the marketing and advertising images for the HR campaign for Fulton Hogan Construction – the REAL People of Fulton Hogan.

Testimonial words from our collaborative client Philippa (CC+C)

“CC+C tasked LP Commercial Photography to capture eye-catching images that would drive home the strategic message that there is strength in diversity, emotive photos that drives home the benefits and beauty of strength in difference.

LP Commercial Photography added value to the overall campaign from the moment they were approached, investing themselves in the outcome of the project.

They guided the client and CC+C on the process involved in shooting a large number of laypeople on a live construction site. They were cognisant of the workplace health and safety requirements, attending a site induction before commencing the shoot on the day.

Andrew and Emily planned the shoot to minimise the impact of their presence on site. They selected an area on the site that would serve to produce enough variety in the shots themselves without impacting on the site itself. They saw in an active construction site how a piece of discarded metal or a temporary retaining wall would translate into beauty in photos.

The resulting images surpassed the expectations of the client who has already been in touch about a second shoot for a Fulton Hogan branding campaign.

The images were used in block mounted A1 posters to display in all FH offices around Australia and NZ. Flyers and post cards were also produced.

The posters were unveiled at the National Launch of the Diversity Strategy in an event in Qld attended by FH directors and board members from around the country.

Not only is everyone at Fulton Hogan who sees them extraordinarily impressed, but the project became the first in many collaborative efforts between CC+C and LP Commercial Photography.”

The two businesses have since partnered frequently on a variety of other successful projects. The relationship allows each creative professional to focus entirely on what they do best, trusting each other to do the same. The end result is always greater than the sum of its parts: Excellent Words and Perfect Picture that surpass client expectations every time.

LP COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY BRISBANE - SHOOTING ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS

CREATIVE COLLABORATION = THE BEST CAMPAIGN PHOTOGRAPHY

One of my favourite elements of our commercial photography business, LP Commercial Photography, is the opportunity to work on creating advertising material and campaign photography.

When done right, it sees you coming together to work with other creatives and the client to take basic concepts and create something unique and often more than you might have done on your own.

Bouncing around ideas and concepts with highly creative people, designers, creative directors and clients can sometimes be a little noisy, occasionally confrontational, however is always good fun and it challenges you to step up your game.

It’s also wonderful the way it can push you technically as a photographer as well as artistically. Once the end concept has grown and been nurtured in the cauldron of collaborative brainstorming, it then often falls to the photographer and their team to work out just how exactly those concepts are going to be created in the real world of the photoshoot.

The best part is when you deliver for your client - the concepts are realised and sometimes surpassed in the shoot and then they come back again and again because they know you can deliver.

This brings us to our third shoot with Brisbane based sports-wear company Zero Athletic and Vorgee. Previous shoots for the brand had seen us photograph in the crashing waves of the Gold Coast with daughter of business owners Bill and Lou, former Australian team member and world number one tri-athlete, Felicity Abrams. As well as hiking and mountain biking up hills and into bushland for an active clothing shoot and being slightly more serene in more studio style set-ups.

Our latest shoot with the brand was to capture the stills required for their designer, the wonderful Matt Roberts of www.robertstown.com.au to create a new set of advertising material for a revolutionary wetsuit aimed at open water swimmers and tri-athletes.

The brief was to have a series of shots which Matt could take into photoshop to show swimmers charging through the water and leaping into the air dragging a spinning vortex behind them. Outside of the brief, we also wanted to produce some general swimming images, close up detail shots and product photography of the new suits which could be used for social media and web exploitation and their online store.

So Bill called up his contacts at a local Brisbane swimming pool, we booked out their dive pool for the morning and off we went.

Talking about pushing myself, I do have a basic fear of heights…. Which is pretty silly when you consider the number of times in my career I’ve hung out of helicopters and stood at the top of wind turbines or been at the top of under construction buildings. Even more so, considering my love of bungee jumping and rock climbing in my youth…. But for me it’s actually a kind of middle height fear. So while I find being really high exhilarating, being a bit high scares me to death. Unfortunately for me the only way to get that perfect straight down shot of the swimmers on this occasion was to lie over the edge of a dive platform and photograph the swimmers as they went under me…. a middle height dive platform….. ahh, the things I do for the job :)

So we spent the morning shooting from high off the dive board, shooting in the water, level across the water and every other angle you can think of. We set up a studio in a quiet part of the pool area and shot the swimmers practicing their positions to give us back up shots for photoshop purposes to use if they couldn’t make the body shapes we needed in the actual pool. We even photographed shots of the water to make sure Matt had some good high resolution water texture pieces to use in Photoshop when bringing all the images together into a final montage piece for the advertising campaign.

It all went swimmingly well…. See our behind the scenes video below of the photoshoot fun.

Launching The Latest In 360 Degree Action Cameras: Brisbane Advertising & Marketing Photography

Launching The Latest In 360 Degree Action Cameras: Brisbane Advertising & Marketing Photography

As a photographer it is always interesting when you are asked to create images around a subject that is within your own industry.

Such was the case when video production company Ipermedia asked us to work with them to create a set of stills for the launch of a new 360 degree action camera from ZMER.

It was the start of a three day non stop dusk to dawn shoot with Both Emily and Andy working round the clock on the Gold Coast to deliver a over 600 images detailing the use of the camera in a range of activities from surfing to bush walking, sailing to roller coasters.... Great fun!!!

The images were used for general marketing as well as crowdfunding advertising and social media campaigns.

Sometimes It's Nice To Say Thanks: Rafter & Rose Ipswich - Brisbane Food & Drink Photography

Its always nice just to be able to say thanks to a fellow small business.

Rafter and Rose in the heart of Ipswich is a truly beautiful small family run cafe where everything is fresh baked and delicious.

Emily and I were regulars while we operated a studio from across the road and soon became friends of the owners which led toilets of free treats and "try this and that" moments.

So it was nice to be able to return the favour doing a food and drink photoshoot for them with images being used for social media content and general marketing.

If you ever find yourself in Ipswich its a must visit.... and trust me, the bacon jam is to die for!!

Re-inventing A Venue: Helm Bar Food & Drink Imagery - Brisbane Advertising & Marketing Photography

When a venue re-invets itself there is nothing like a good set of atmospheric interior, food and drink images for traditional and social media exploitation to reset people's opinions and present the new look.

Converting a former sports club bar into the chic and friendly Helm Bar Gold Coast bar and restaurant saw just such a dramatic change and Andy was called in to capture both the food and drink on offer but also the the stylish and welcoming atmosphere of the venue.

From Little Things, Big Things Grow - Acciona Energy: Construction & Timelapse Photography

A few years ago Andy received a call... a friend of  a client had a small job she needed photographed near Ballarat, a turf cutting ceremony for a new building venture.

The venture turned out to be the start of construction of what was at the time the largest wind-farm in the southern hemisphere by Acciona Energy.

The "quick job" turned into three years of work recording the growth of the development and included the creation of a time lapse film that condensed some three years of building work into a matter of minutes as well as thousands of images documenting a truly awe-inspiring project.
