Take a handful of Porsche racing cars, add one of the Australia’s top young racing drivers, mix in one of our favourite clients, add a dash of outdoor studio lighting and sprinkle liberally with a brand new stunningly sharp canon lens and you have the recipe for one hell of a commercial lifestyle photoshoot.

Our friends at Helimods at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, commissioned LP Commercial Photography to capture a set of images celebrating not only the end of their first year as sponsors of a Porsche race team, but also celebrating team driver and Helimods intern, Harri Jones, being crowned Australian Champion in his first season.

We managed to get our timing just right for the photoshoot, with Harri juggling dates between testing his new cars for next season in Germany, travelling back to the Sunshine Coast and sitting his university exams. As our shoot date approached, the weather changed and on the day we were faced with dark and gloomy skies as we drove up from Brisbane to Helimod’s airport-based headquarters. As our late afternoon shoot time approached we were faced with only the mildest hint of a crack in the clouds for a sunset.

Rescheduling wasn’t an option, so out came the big strobes, taking our studio lights on set to create some dramatic images with a 4 light setup.

The week of the shoot, we were lucky enough to have Canon lend us one of their new 28-70 f2 lenses to try out on the EOS R mirrorless cameras we are slowly transitioning to. The lens was fantastic, sharp all the way through its aperture range and a had a really crisp fall off in focus at the wider end. Coupled to the EOS R it was a great combo to shoot with.

Capturing A Versatile & Creative Commercial Advertising Campaign Photoshoot for Active Wear Brand, bluerg

OUR CLIENT

At the end of 2019, we got to work with the up and coming fitness wear brand bluerg, as an Australian company devoted to developing more evolved products for women.

In particular, they aim to support those who are embracing and developing their strength and functional abilities. This might mean changes to their body, including your upper body shape and size.

They are personalised with their brand with a unique sizing approach and their purpose is to provide you with more control over the fit, comfort and functionality of your apparel. They are also giving back to others with their long term vision to allocate a portion of profits to sponsoring and advocating for girls and women in sport.

THE BRIEF

LP Commercial Photography Brisbane were commissioned by bluerg for a full day commercial advertising photoshoot to capture a variety of imagery for social, web and advertising for the brand’s launch. bluerg have two collections; Move & Rest - Move being more of a crossfit, gym or athlete targeted product - and Rest being more of a relaxed, bed, around the house comfort product.

In order to portray the two styles, we split the day into three themes - gym imagery, house/relaxed imagery and product photography for shopify. We created a variety of lifestyle imagery that bluerg could use in their new campaigns, on their website banners, product information sites and social media.

Our final selection of images were all provided in full crop, high resolution sizing, as well as a second copy for website and social use sized correctly and cropped for their intended use.
